Wedding Map Illustration
After years in hiatus with my three little ones, it's been so fun to get my hands messy and to start taking on design work again. I especially love creating wedding maps. So much more than a piece of paper, they are an illustration of an entire love story.
In simple black and white, this little piece of paper is filled with intimate details about a soccer playing chemist who fell in love with an Airforce Captain, got married in the most beautiful spot, and moved away together for a dream job with NASA.
The framed print now hanging in their home is proof that less is more, dreams do come true, and that home is really where the heart is.

Love Potion: Cocktail Recipe for Galentines Day Party
At my last calligraphy workshop. I wanted to serve up a signature cocktail that was just as fun as it was tasty. With the help of my hubbies cousin, Will Brandstetter, an ex mixologist, now staring along side Food Network star Alton Brown in the "Eat Your Science" tour (so cool!!) I think we pulled it off.
IMPORTANT:
HANDLE DRY ICE WITH CARE! NEVER let ANY skin come into contact with dry ice! Before you serve this up, make sure everyone is well aware that they cannot start sipping until the dry ice has COMPLETELY dissolved (just before it completely disappears, the foggy affect will stop and it will float to the very top).
I knew I wanted to add dry ice to give our signature cocktail that mysterious "potion" like feel, but knew nothing about coming up with a delicious drink for a large group of people. When I reached out to Will and he started using terms like "elevated" and "infused" I knew it was going to be good! Not only was it delish, but so much fun! I had to pause my class because the drink was so mesmerizing. Everyone whipped out their iPhones and had a blast sharing photos and videos of the bubbling drink in action.
Without further ado, this is how we made it:
RECIPE:
In a large punch bowl or something similar mix together the following:
1 large bottle of Champagne
1/2 bottle of Chambord
1/2 bottle of Stoli Citrus
1 bottle of cranberry juice
Simple Syrup if desired
GARNISH:
A sugar rim, a strawberry, and a small chunk of dry ice
TIP:
Do not fill champagne glass all the way, if you'll be adding dry ice. It will bubble over the sides.
Happy Galentine's Day, friends! Cheers!
6 Reasons This Workshop is going to be the best yet!
Every single time I book Salon Sorelina for a workshop, my stomach fills with butterflies and I'm overcome with excitement! It has been so fun to bring something to our little town that you can typically only find in huge metropolitan cities (where tickets are $200.00-$350.00). As wedding season approaches, I'm a little sad that this will be my last class in Mansfield. But, make no mistake, we're going out with a bang! This workshop is going to be the very best one yet! Here's why:
1. THE DETAILS!
Have you ever seen a perfectly styled shoot in a magazine and wanted to jump right inside the pages and join in on the party? If you have a ticket to Saturday's workshop, you'll have that opportunity! I've fussed over every last, pretty pink detail and am so very happy that the extremely talented Jessica Seed, of Seedling Photography will be there to capture all of it. It is always my intention that these feel like so much more than a boring "class." I want everyone to have a total blast at a the most beautiful party they've ever attended.
2. The Vendors!
I'm teaming up with some amazing businesses to make this workshop the best one yet! With delicious treats made by Blackbird Bakery plus beautiful flowers from Tara's Floral Expressions combined with the beautiful space that is Salon Sorellina, you just can't go wrong.
3. THE WORKBOOK!
The workbook gets a little better each time. I've added more pages so, even if you've been to a past workshop, there will be something new for you!
4. The Drink!
A few weeks ago, I mixed up our signature cocktail on FB LIVE. The drink was even more amazing than I expected!
It's tastes as great as it looks!
5. BRUSH CALLIGRAPHY!
Watercolor is probably my favorite medium. Combine it with calligraphy, and I'm in heaven!
With watercolor, the beauty is in the imperfections. Seeing everyone's signature style come out with this incredible medium is going to be amazing!
6. Double the fun!
Each time I've scheduled a workshop, I wasn't sure there would be a next, so I wanted to let in everyone that could fit. After selling out twice and knowing that this would be the last local workshop of 2017 (maybe ever) I still wanted to let as many people come as possible. But I was torn, because I felt like I'd be able to help everyone more if I made class sizes smaller. Having two separate classes was the perfect solution! Each class will be significantly smaller but in total, we have more seats than ever before!
Even with two classes, we're almost sold out! If you would like to join us you can click on the button below to purchase your ticket!
I'm giddy with excitement! Can't wait to see everyone there!
